Description
A dark green tourmaline with lustrous, striated prism faces and a flat pinacoidal termination. The green colour is zoned internally, with the darkest and least translucent near the termination and more green and translucent beginning about 1 cm from the termination. It looks almost black in modest lighting, and colour comes through with any amount of backlighting. In excellent condition overall with minor chipping. A beautiful, classic trigonal California tourmaline.
From the Pete Richards collection, he acquired it on April 12, 1994 from Louis Spaulding.
